That is why we here at Pearson Toyota have created this comparison review. We have quickly narrowed the segment down to two of the most popular models, the 2020 Toyota Camry and the 2020 Hyundai Sonata, and we are breaking down what they have to offer to see just how they stack up. Keep reading to find out which one we think you should drive home in!

2020 Toyota Camry Power & Handling

When it comes to power, the Camry has got in the bag! The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 184 pound-feet of torque and 203 horsepower. The available engine is a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 267 pound-feet of torque and 301 horsepower. Each and every Camry model, no matter the engine under the hood, comes outfitted with an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the front wheels. An all-wheel drive configuration is available for LE models and above when outfitted with the four-cylinder engine.

2020 Hyundai Sonata Power & Handling

There are also two engines offered for the Sonata as well. The base engine powers the SE and SEL trims level. This 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine generates 181 pound-feet of torque and 191 horsepower. The SEL and Limited trim levels are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 195 pound-feet of torque and 180 horsepower. Every Hyundai Sonata model, no matter the engine, is outfitted with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2020 Toyota Camry Features & Design

Toyota offers the Camry in six trim levels for the 2020 model year. The base trim level comes outfitted with Apple and Android smartphone integration, 16-inch steel wheels, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a six-speaker sound system, a USB port, LED headlights, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The upper trims levels, called the LE, SE, XSE, and XLE add two-charge only USB ports, an 8-inch touchscreen interface, an adaptive cruise control system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, heated front seats, leather upholstery, navigation, a JBL sound system, and more. The TRD, added to the lineup for the 2020 model year, comes with an aerodynamic body kit, extra chassis bracing, 19-inch black-painted wheels, keyless entry and ignition, driver-selectable driving modes, and a TRD-tuned suspension.

2020 Hyundai Sonata Features & Design

There are only four Sonata trim levels to choose from. The base model, called the SE, is outfitted with Apple and Android smartphone integration, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The upper trim levels add heated mirrors, heated front seats, keyless entry and ignition, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, navigation, a panoramic sunroof, an automatic remote parking system, a head-up display, and a power-adjustable passenger seat.
