Get and oil and oil filter change

Oil changes are important all year round but even more so after winter. This is because cold weather can cause sludge buildup, especially if your car sat during winter. Getting your oil changed at the interval recommended in your vehicle's owner's manual will help make sure your engine runs well long into the future. Getting regular oil changes will help prevent poor engine performance, higher fuel consumption, and severe engine damage.

Have your belts and hoses checked

Cold weather can cause the rubber parts to harden and crack. This makes it very important to have a certified technician check your belts and hoses. When checking your hoses, we'll check for hardening, softening, blistering, cracks, and leaks. For your belts, we'll check for any looseness, glazing, cracks, or frays. Once these are all checked, a certified technician will tell you what condition they're in and advise you if they need replacing.

Have your starting and charging system checked

Cold temperatures can take a toll on your battery, and when the weather starts to warm up is the perfect time to have it tested. When testing the battery, we'll also make sure the connections are clean, tight, and clear of any corrosion, and also that it is securely mounted. You should consider replacing your battery if it's at least five years old. At the same time, you should also have the alternator tested to make sure it is producing enough energy to power the electronics in your vehicle.

Check your fluids

Many different fluids help your car run, no one more important than the other. Your transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and even washer fluid all have a specific job and should be checked when the seasons changed to make sure the levels are full, and there are no signs of fluid break down.
