All trims of the 2022 Toyota 4Runner come with a spectacular 4.0-liter V6 that delivers a spectacular 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque which pairs with a five-speed automatic transmission that will provide you with a smooth ride. On the SR5, Trail Special Edition, SR5 Premium, TRD Sport, and Limited trims, front-wheel-drive comes standard, but you do have the option of four-wheel-drive, which will provide you with more traction both on and off the road. All other versions of the Toyota 4Runner come standard with four-wheel-drive. There is a lot to love about this engine as it will provide drivers with the kind of power they need both on and off the road.

There are a whopping eight trim levels available for the 4Runner, and each one comes with an astonishing amount of features. The first trim is the SR5 which comes with LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, roof rails, a rear power window, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. There is quite a bit of tech available for the SR5, including a large 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Next we have the Trail Special Edition, which builds off what the SR5 offers with a Yakima roof rack, dark-painted wheels to go along with darker exterior trim, a portable beverage cooler, and a sliding rear cargo deck with underfloor storage. Sportier features are available for the TRD Sport as it has t a hood scoop and a Toyota Racing Development branded interior trim. Want to travel far into the wilderness? The 4Runner offers you two off-road specific trims: a locking rear differential, additional drive settings, and a kinetic dynamic suspension system. Higher-level trims round things out nicely with more impressive features such as  20-inch wheels, chrome exterior accents, a sunroof, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and an integrated navigation system. There is also a standard premium JBL sound system and more advanced off-road features such as an off-road-focused suspension, TRD wheels with all-terrain tires, unique front skid plates, and a TRD roof rack.

Not only is the 4Runner incredibly powerful with tons of advanced features, but it's also one of the safest SUVs on the road thanks to several fantastic safety features, many of which come standard. Coming standard on all trims is an Adaptive Cruise Control system which will allow the driver to maintain a safe distance from the 4Runner to the vehicles ahead of it. Also standard is a Forward Collision Mitigation system that will warn you of an impending frontal collision and even apply the brakes in certain situations. Finally, a standard Lane Departure Warning will alert you if the 4Runner happens to drift outside of the painted lines.
