The nickel hydride battery pack has been replaced with an advanced lithium-ion unit, giving you more energy density and a smaller, lighter pack. All this is to say the Prius has gotten a bump in power as the Prius moves from 121 horses to a throaty 191 horsepower with front-wheel-drive and 196 horsepower with all-wheel-drive. The front-wheel-drive version of the Prius can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds or less, while the all-wheel-drive version can do this in seven seconds or less. In addition, this power doesn't come at the expense of fuel economy, as the LE trim will get you 57 mpg which is superb.
Inside the 2023 Prius
Toyota has paid a lot of attention to the interior of the 2023 Prius, as this year, the overall design is a touch more comfortable. The dashboard has been lowered, and there is no central-mounted gauge cluster, as the touchscreen is now placed on top of the dashboard. Below the touchscreen, you will find a neat row of physical HVAC buttons which is undoubtedly a welcome inclusion for the 2023 Prius as it now puts the touchscreen front and center of the 2023 Prius's interior. Optional on the LE and standard XLE are front and rear parking sensors and automatic braking, while the top-level Limited rounds things out with a hands-free parking system and a 360-degree parking camera.
