Toyota 4Runner Maintenance Schedule

Your first service will occur at the 5,000-mile mark or six months, whichever comes first. Every six months, your 4Runner will need a bunch of things checked out to ensure it's working well. Included with this routine checkup is checking things like the installation of the driver's floor mat, replacing engine oil and filter, replacing the drain plug gasket, rotating your tires, and checking their condition and tread depth. Our team here at Pearson Toyota will also make sure that your vehicle's tires are at the correct psi as well as check your wiper blades and check to make sure that all of your bulbs are working correctly. Our skilled technicians will also check your brake linings, drums, pads, and disks. Finally, we will also inspect all of your fluid levels.

For those drivers who tend to use your 4Runner for off-roading, there are certain things to check out at the 5,000-mile mark. These things include the inspection of the ball joints, drive shaft boots, engine air filter, and steering linkage. Our team will also lubricate the propel shaft,  re-torque the propeller shaft bolt, and tighten the nuts and bolts on your 4Runners chassis and body. If you do a lot of towing and off-roading with your 4Runner, then you will need to get your oil and filter changed as much as you need.

When you reach the 15,000-mile mark or 18 months, there are a few other things you need to have our team here at Pearson Toyota perform. This includes our team of technicians taking a look at all the components of your vehicle to ensure everything is working at the top of its game so that we can identify any minor problems before they become major ones. In addition to everything we covered at the 15,000-mile interval, we will also inspect your ball joints and dust covers while inspecting the condition of other items, such as drive shaft boots, brake fluid, transfer case, and differential fluids. We will also check your cooling system and provide you with a five-point inspection.

At the 30,000-mile mark, our experienced team at Pearson Toyota will perform all of the same tasks we did at the previous mileage intervals. In addition, our team will also inspect all of the larger components of your 4Runner, such as the spark plugs, your battery, and more. We can also replace the air filter, cabin air filter, rotate your tires, inspect the ignition wires and fuel tank vapor vent system hoses. Finally, other inspections, such as the steering and suspension components and the exhaust system, then after all this is done, we will perform a road test to ensure your vehicle is accelerating and braking well enough.
