What are the new features of the Toyota Highlander?

The Toyota Highlander has many updated technology features. Standard in the Limited and the Platinum grades are the 12.3-inch glare-reducing optically bonded screens including one Multi-Information Display screen and one multimedia screen. These premium Highlander grades offer more screen area than the previous generation and four different visual modes including Casual, Smart, Tough, and Sporty. For the XLE and XSE grades, there is an available 12.3-inch audio multimedia touchscreen which is standard for the Hybrid Bronze Edition. The Toyota Highlander also has many upgraded features such as a luxurious new exterior color called Cypress Green. In terms of seating,  a second-row bench comes standard with the L and LE models and can fit up to 8 passengers. The Hybrid Bronze Edition, Limited Hybrid, Platinum, and XSE  grades come standard with a Captain's Chair second row that allows up to 7 passengers. The 2023 Highlander has ample cargo space with all seat rows in use and offers 16 cubic ft. of space behind the third row. Folding the 60/40 split expands the space to 48.4 cubic feet. Folding the second row as well expands the space cargo space to 84.3 cubic feet.

Power and handling of the 2023 Toyota Highlander

The 2023 Highlander offers both FWD and AWD, as well as a hybrid option. As mentioned above a new 265-horsepower, the 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine now powers the Highlander gas models. This new-for-2023 powertrain is more efficient, environmentally friendly, and responsive when compared to the previous version. Models equipped with the turbo engine can tow up to 5,000 pounds. The Highlander hybrid, which comes in either AWD or FWD, gets its power from a 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with two electric motor generators. This powertrain option has an EPA-estimated rating of 36 mpg combined. The hybrid has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 lbs. All Highlander models come standard with Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist. These features allow for great performance and safety on and off the road. The Toyota Highlander also offers selectable driving modes including Normal, ECO, and Sport. This allows the driver to choose the Highlander's performance personality. Normal driving mode is the most ideal for your everyday commute whereas Sport mode quickens throttle response.

What are the new safety features of the Highlander?

The 2023 Highlander comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system that features Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD). The Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system maintains the stability of the vehicle. This system controls the brakes, steering assist, and hybrid system output. Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is intended for highway use. This safety feature helps maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you using its vehicle-to-vehicle distance control.
