2023 Toyota Tacoma at Pearson Toyota

There are pickups, and then there is the Toyota Tacoma! The Tacoma has dominated the competition for the last few years with its rugged off-road capability and powerful engine options. This year, Toyota has made the Tacoma better in everyway by introducing two new appearance packages for the SR5 trim level, known as the SX and the Chrome. In addition, the Tacoma has two different cab types and can have four-wheel-drive. When you take a peak under the hood, the Tacoma will either come with a four-cylinder or a V6, both of which can give you tremendous power! Are you interested in knowing more about the 2023 Tacoma? Then check out our complete review below!

Aggressive Front Fascia

When you got it, flaunt it. Exclusive to Tacoma TRD Pro is a set of LED headlight housings that feature an integrated, light-up TRD Pro logo. And with its iconic heritage grille, this truck reminds everyone why Toyota is still king of the off-road.

16-In. TRD Pro Wheels

Not just a pretty face, these 16-in. TRD black alloy wheels are constructed with flow-formed aluminum alloy to provide an ideal balance of strength and weight savings. Each of these wheels comes wrapped in Goodyear®  All-Terrain tires for optimal traction on- and off-road.

3.5-Liter V6 Direct-Injection Engine

High tech meets high performance. Tacoma's available Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V6 with direct injection is the perfect blend of efficiency and power, giving you more of everything you want.

Trailer-Sway Control

When you're towing, sometimes the wind kicks up or a load shifts, causing the trailer to sway. Included with Tacoma's available Tow Package, Trailer-Sway Control (TSC) * applies brake pressure at individual wheels and manages engine torque to help maintain control of the trailer.

Multi-Terrain Monitor

When the trail gets demanding, Tacoma's available Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) * lets you check your immediate surroundings for potential obstacles. Simply press a button to display front-, rear- and side-camera views on the 8-in. navigation screen.

Bilstein Shocks

Standard on TRD Off-Road, Bilstein shocks know how to keep their cool under pressure, delivering consistent performance when the going gets rough. These shocks help soak up the impacts of the trail, thanks to high-performance components and valves tuned specifically for off-road driving.

Available LED Headlights

Tacoma's available LED headlights use LED elements for both the low and high beams, giving you bright, efficient light when you need it. And since they're bolted to the front of Tacoma, you can bet that they look awesome too.

Embossed Tailgate With Grade-Specific Taillights

Let everyone behind you know who's in charge. The tailgate features an embossed Tacoma logo that complements the rugged look.

Power Rear Window

Let the outside in. Tacoma's available power sliding rear window with privacy glass opens with just the touch of a button.

Two USB Charge Ports

Plug in your smartphone or another compatible device to stay charged up while on the go.

What's under the hood of the Tacoma?

Before we go into all of the features that the Tacoma has to offer, let's get into the powerful engines you will get! The first few trims of this beast of a pickup is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder which kicks out 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Optional for those trims and standard on higher level trims is a 3.5-liter V6 which delivers a spectacular that pumps out a massive 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, and both engines pair with a solid six-speed automatic transmission, but you can get a manual transmission if you prefer. Looking to tow something? The Tacoma is made for this as it can pull up to 6,800 pounds!

Standard features for the Tacoma

If you are looking for a pickup that comes loaded with standard features, then the Tacoma is your best bet! That base trim is the SR which comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, and manually adjustable front seats. Then there is the vast amount of tech you can get with the base Tacoma as it has Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Amazon Alexa compatibility, Wi-Fi, three USB ports, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a large 7-inch touchscreen. In addition to this haul, the Tacoma is incredibly safe with several advanced safety features, such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control!

What higher trims of the Tacoma offer

As you go higher up the trim ladder of the Tacoma, you will get more fantastic tech and luxury items, as well as the introduction of some off-road features! The spectacular SR5 is worth getting as it comes standard with four-wheel-drive, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8-inch touchscreen. There are also more safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring, navigation, and rear parking sensors. You can also opt for the exciting Trail Edition, which adds a raised suspension, skid plates, Goodyear all-terrain tires, and a locking rear differential, or the Chrome package, which adds 18-inch alloy wheels, plus a chrome-finished exhaust tailpipe tip and exterior door handle. If you want more sporty features, check out the TRD Sport, which comes with keyless entry/ignition, wireless charging, 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and a 120-volt outlet in the pickup bed. Off-road fans will love the TRD Pro, which adds some unique off-road items such as advanced off-road equipment such as a Multi-Terrain Monitor and other Fox items.
